The Linscheid Museum is very significant because, though small in size, it houses some very rare artifacts from pre-independence America. These rare coins, uniforms and weapons are some of the only few remaining such artifacts in the country. The museum also has a collection of unique old maps and journals that date back to the 18th Century, attracting historians and visitors from around the country.
Unfortunately, in recent months, moths and termites have infested some of the old clothing and books, and have partly damaged some of them. The books are of significant value and need to be kept intact for future generations. The uniforms look magnificent in their display cabinets, but due to unknown reasons, they seem to be very vulnerable to these pests as well. Like most other small museums, we have a very restricted budget and get by on the gracious donations of well wishers and benefactors. This pest problem was completely unexpected, as we have never faced something like this in the museum before. We need help to get rid of this pesky problem right away! We are in desperate need of funds! Please help preserve history by helping us with a fumigation of the museum!
