Why support Pauline?
Pauline is a wonderful, high potential student
Pauline is a senior at Eastside College Preparatory School where she has demonstrated great potential. In her most recent quarter, she had a 3.6 GPA with an A- in AP Calculus and B+ in AP English. She loves basketball, music, and spending time with her family.
Pauline is a leader and influencer
Pauline is the oldest of seven children (with 28 in her extended family) and will be the first of both groups to attend college. She is a born leader with poise and composure unusual for a young lady of her age and will be a role model to others in her family and community to follow in her footsteps.
Pauline has already been accepted at five colleges
She has been accepted at Sacramento State, Sonoma State, Hawaii Pacific University, San Jose State, and UC Merced and is waiting to hear from Santa Clara. It’s going to be a tough choice of schools, but has decided on a nursing major regardless.
Pauline has been hand-picked
I met Pauline through the Glow Foundation (www.glowfoundation.org) where I am a board member and Pauline was the first junior to be accepted into our program last year because she was such a standout. We met up last week and she is more determined than ever to get her college degree.
Without our help she will be unable to afford college
Jennifer and I are launching the campaign with a lead gift of $1,000 and are asking for your help to fund Pauline’s four year ‘financial gap scholarship’ to the tune of $5,000.
Please help Pauline achieve her dream, and start a ripple effect that will change not only her life, but that of her family and her community.
Thank you, Shawn & Jennifer Carolan
