Dear Fellow Obama supporters, My name is Yvonne Armstrong and I am looking for a sponsor (s) to assist me with travel expenses to the battle ground state of Colorado. I have already secured logging and a ride to Denver; however, I am in need of funds to pay for bicycle rental in Denver, my share of the expenses to Denver, which includes 1 nights stay in a hotel and 1/3 of the cost of gasoline. I am a native Texan, a disabled Veteran, a decision maker, and a grassroots organizer with an extensive history (30+ years) of support and volunteer service to the party.

I have both the organizational skills and experience to represent the Democratic Party and Senator Barack Obama in Denver. Sometimes the political process seems impossible and phony, but we as volunteers and lifelong party supporters are attempting to change that opinion by unselfishly supporting a campaign away from the comforts of home, that is of the people, by the people, and for the people.

I am a dedicated community leader and Barack Obama supporter and I feel that in my own small, idealistic way that I might actually use my skills to help sway some of the voters to vote for Barack Obama. My experience in the Obama for America campaign began in September 2007, and includes the following:

• In November 2007, I helped organize, setup and currently volunteer at the largest Obama grassroots headquarters in San Antonio Texas, “AlamObama” • I have been a volunteer at six Countdown to Change Rallies where Senator Obama spoke in San Antonio and Austin Texas • 2008 Deputy Field Organizer for Obama for America campaign during the primary and general elections • Accepted into the 2008 Obama Organizing Fellows Program • Attended Camp Obama • A proven track record of networking and attracting other Democrats to work in campaigns • I have called forty (40) states for the 2008 Obama for America Campaign during the primary season. •  Organized and worked in several local successful GOTV voter registration drives/events.

I have several reasons for passionately supporting Senator Obama and wanting to volunteer in a battle ground state. The main reason is that I believe that I can help to reverse the near-decade-long Republican assault on American values by turning battle ground states Blue and assisting in getting Senator Obama elected as the next President of the United States.
