Most of us have seen Slumdog Millionaire or can visualize the hardships involved in a childhood spent far below the established poverty level. This trek through India and Nepal will help fund a mobile hospital, bringing healthcare to 3-4 villages a day, some who may never have seen a doctor before.

Hello Friends and Family,

Due to the overwhelming call for the Paypal option of contribution, I have created this page to ease the process of international donation to my Himalayan trek for children of India.

How does it work you ask?  Excellent question, I posted a picture of an Indian child on the campaign page called Himalayan Trek to Bring a Mobile Hospital to India's Children of the Slums.  What you do if you want to contribute is search the campaign title in the box at the top right of the home page and then purchase tiles, which are pieces of the child's picture. Each tile costs $40 US dollars and as we reach the $4000 goal, the picture will be shaded in and you can see how the charity is progressing.  I hope to have most of the funds in by May 1st, so don't hesitate my beloved ones!!!

To verify that this is a legitimate charity campaign (some foundations need this information)  please contact Patricia Anderson at marketing@gulf4good.org.

For those of you who missed the first email.....

I have been lucky in life.  I was well-loved with a happy childhood, educated, well-traveled, and now have found love and the person to share the remainder of my days with in Robert.  What more could a gal ask for without being considered greedy?  So the time has come to put my good fortune onto others, and have the experience of a lifetime at the same time.

For those of you who have been out of my loop, for the past year I have been living in Dubai, an Emirate of the United Arab Emirate persuasion.  There is an amazing organization out here called Gulf 4 Good www.gulf4good.org that raises money for other charities throughout the world.  On May 15th - May 23rd I will be participating in a Himalayan Charity Trek to help raise money for the Smile Foundation www.smilefoundationindia.org , a charity organization in India that helps poverty stricken children and women from the slums of India.  If any of you have seen the recent film Slumdog Millionaire you already know what these areas look like.

The specific program my trek will benefit will be Smile on Wheels, a national level mobile hospital catering to the under priviliged children and women in remote rural areas and urban slums.  Each unit is covering the vicinity of up to 25 km from its center and visiting 2-3 villages a day on a regular basis.  These areas either have no clinics or the existing clinics are too over crowded to help all those in need.  The things we take for granted these kids are surprised to receive.

The trek I will take part in starts off in India than we trek over to Nepal and up into the mountains.  Each day we will hike 5 - 12 miles (8 - 19 km) through the Buddhist monasteries, mountain villages, schools, and national parks.  At the end of the trip we celebrate the with the children of the Smile Foundation, whom we helped and by we I mean, you and I.

I know times are tough all over the world these days, it is true.  But as we sit at our laptops in our warm homes with food in our refrigerators and clothes on our backs, can we even begin to imagine a life of TRUE poverty?

What I am asking is simple, help out however you can.  I need to raise 15,000 Dirhams, which is roughly $4,000 US dollars, not much to make a change.  I know we can do this and I have faith we can do better than this!  I am looking to have all funds collected by May 1st, so please don't dawdle, darlings.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!

I just want to thank you all in advance, you mean alot to me and I hope together we can pass that on.

Love,

Jessy Babin
